What you appreciate, appreciates!

So many people go through their day thinking about all the things they need or are lacking. First thing out of bed in the morning its, “Oh gosh, I need more sleep”. Then it is off to work, “Man I need a vacation”. At the end of the day, they are thinking about all the stuff they still need to do, they collapse into bed saying “I need more time to get everything done”.
It is a cultural habit for most of the western society to want more, to never be satisfied. Materialism. We are are being bombarded with advertisements telling us we need this or that. We are programmed to be consumers. Always needing more. More money… more time… more possessions… the list goes on and on.
To be content and satisfied with what we have is one thing. To be appreciative of what we have is stepping it up to new level.
Joy and happiness go hand in hand with appreciation. So when we come from a heart of appreciation it not only changes our perspective on things, it changes our body chemistry and therefore, our feelings. We feel uplifted and inspired.
Imagine the opportunities that come to you from a place of appreciation and what you will create in your life when you are living from this space.
What do you appreciate? Your job? Your health? Yourself? And what about yourself do you value? Who else do you appreciate and why? If you dont appreciate yourself or others, don’t expect others to appreciate you.
Write a list of what you appreciate and keep this where you can see it. Have this as the first thing you think about when you wake up and the last thought through your head when you go to sleep.
