Are you planning to win? or are you planning to lose? Many people fail to plan at all, and that very action is a plan to lose. What are some ways to Plan to Win? Let’s look at one!
Writing Down Your Goals
I talk to alot of people. Many people say that they have goals in their life, and that they don’t need to write them down. People will tell you that the goals are in their head. Here are three things to consider:
First – What are you afraid of? Not writing down your goals is a way of hiding out. Are you afraid you won’t reach your goals? What about actually being afraid that you WILL reach your goals? Maybe you don’t feel you deserve to have goals? What ever the case, face your fears and write out your goals. You owe it to yourself and all the others that will benefit from it.
Second – If you don’t write down your goals, they are not goals at all. Those thoughts are ideas or dreams, and they are not goals. Write down your goals and watch how you change. If you want to see yourself in overdrive, write down your goals every day. You will be unstoppable.
Third – Now that you have your goals, every evening write out the things you want to accomplish the next day. This process will allow your brain to release those items overnight and make way for you to sleep better. It also allows your brain to start working out ways to accomplish these things overnight. I know, sounds like a contradiction. Trust me, it works.
When you make your nightly list, be sure that there is something on your list that will support your main goals. Put high priority on those items and get them done first. The amazing Brain Tracy wrote a book called “Eat that Frog” based on this quote:
If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first. ~Mark Twain
Sharpen your pencil and write down your goals! You’ll be glad you did. And the year ahead will be more fun than ever!
