What really matters

I am in the process of moving from one country to another and after multiple going away parties and goodbye moments I have come to notice how I have created many acquaintances and not many true friends.  This has nothing to do with the people I met.  I chose to not create deep friendships.  I’m the one that never went “out of my way” to make space for a friendship to develop.  I chose to allow “the busyness of life” to keep me focused on my little world (work and home life).

If I really look at the most rewarding times or favorite memories in my life, they have nothing to do with work or the event and have everything to do with the people and relationships tied in with that  moment or memory.

The real moments that matter in life (for me) are the memories shared with family and friends.

So why have I allowed the busyness of life, work, or whatever to rob me of the most precious moment and memories?  This is actually the wrong question.  What I have created at this point in time, is what it is.  The real question is, what am I going to do differently from here forward.

What really matters in your life?
Is that where your focus is?
