Let’s say you are driving from Green Bay to San Francisco. The majority of your journey you are not in San Francisco which is where you want to be. This being the case, you still continue driving. The thought of quitting and turning around doesn’t even exist. You’re not going to say, “I’ve been trying and trying to get to San Francisco but I just can’t do it. It’s too hard!” As you drive, you see the progress you are making. You are getting farther from Green Bay and closer to San Francisco, so you don’t get discouraged or frustrated and want to give up. You know it’s all part of the process of getting there. Obviously there will be food, gas, and bathroom stops; probably even detours and road construction. Hopefully there aren’t any vehicle problems, but sometimes that too is just part of the journey. You know the destination and keep driving towards it.
Our life is like this too. You will spend time where you don’t want to be, as you journey towards what you do want. Challenges will come up that are part of the journey. The important thing is to be clear on what you want and keep heading in that direction.
Life isn’t about the destination, it’s about the journey.
You will get there. Remember to enjoy the journey along the way and HAVE FUN!
When challenges or problems (depending what you want to call them) come, do you see them as part of the journey and process or are they road blocks that stop you in your life?
